He describes how the world is full of smart gadgets, such as phones and robots that can talk, and he worries about a future where AI’s all the rage, but it’s taking away the human touch.

Like everyone else, I miss the many one-on-one canceled meetings, so I have lost my usual connections with the business community, since I used to go to regular Lafayette, Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill, and Danville Chambers of Commerce meetings and other networking events.

I have also missed going to conferences, conventions, and happy hours put on by various groups I belong to.

]]> WHAT’S WRONG WITH “NEANDERTHAL THINKING? An Open Letter to President Biden https://www.changemakerspublishingandwriting.com/whats-wrong-with-neanderthal-thinking-an-open-letter-to-president-biden/ Mon, 01 Mar 2021 17:20:51 +0000 https://changemakerspublishingandwriting.com/?p=1327 Recently, President Biden criticized states such as Texas and Mississippi for lifting Covid-19 restrictions, saying that we are on the cusp of being able to change the nature of the disease and that "the last thing we need is Neanderthal thinking that in the meantime everything’s fine.”

While Biden was attacked by Republicans and others for his statement, because they want to get back to “normal” as soon as possible, I would like to object to his statement as one disparaging Neanderthals. I write this as a researcher and author on several books on Neanderthals, including The Return of the Neanderthals, about what might happen if they were brought back by DNA cloning, grow up as children, and become adults in modern society.
